Quilters meet on Tuesday morning at 8:30am and the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm. At present we have seven day time quilters and seven evening quilters. We currently design strip quilts, squares, and larger patterns doing hand typing and hand quilting. The finished quilts are usually presented as gifts (for example, each infant that is baptized at Saint Mark a quilt is given) or donated to various community and mission organizations such as: Salvation Army, Safe Harbor, Faith House Orphanage, Sierra Leone, St. Luke Appalachian Service Project, Aging & Disability, Habitat for Humanity and Lutheran World Relief. Furthermore, baby size quilts are donated to the Linus Project.
The Men’s Club supports many church and local groups through annual fund-raising events. These include a pancake supper in November and a bratwurst fry on Super Bowl Sunday in February.
